AROMATHERAPY and BOTANICAL MEDICINE
The use of essential oils (extracted from herbs, flowers, resin, woods, and roots) in body and skin care treatments are known as aromatherapy and botanical medicine. Used as a healing technique for thousands of years by the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans and Natives Indians, essential oils aid in relaxation, improve circulation, and help the healing of wounds. Aromatherapy diffusers are utilized to fill the massage room with the scent of the oils. Specific essential oils are blended by the aromatherapist and added to a carrier oil, such as sunflower, olive or coconut and is often used during the massage. Each oil has its own unique characteristics and benefits. Crafted medicinal oils by the massage therapist are sometimes made into salves and can be purchased at Mizika. We also carry Raw Medicinal Honey that is cultivated by a local Apiary in Snoqualimie Washington.
Medicinal oils, lotions, salves, linaments, herbal soaks and compresses are made, used and sold at Mizika by our skilled practioners. Organic and high quality ingredients are used whenever possible. Medicinal herbs may be suggested by a therapist to use in aiding external and internal problems.
